This Haley Stevens. Abdullah. So, yeah, dumpster fire is even crazier than you probably already think. Trump's been so well over the place with his Iran war. And now you've got Tucker Carlson warning that he's going to launch nukes.
we now know after nine people were killed, after a private jet plunged 35,000ft. we sat down with candidates with key elections on Tuesday.
We're talking about all of that and even more on today's brand new Philip DeFranco show. You daily dive into the news. But first. y'all. The election is Tuesday, November 3rd.
If you're watching this on Monday, that means it's tomorrow. If you're watching this on Tuesday, it's happening right now. And if you haven't voted yet, just take a minute. Make a you can go to vote.
You can go to I will vote. You pick your state. You can check your registration. You can find your election day voting location.
Because that is different oftentimes from early voting You can get information on voting hours, ID requirements, how to vote. You can also if you voted early, you can check your ballot.
I did it just this and you can also check the candidates and questions on your specific ballot before you also and also a huge thing. Remember this if you are in line when the polls close, stay in vote.
You can still vote if you have questions or you run into a problem, call or text eight six, six hour also and also y'all, this is like the biggest thing because not everyone is as tuned in as right whether you voted already or not, text a friend.
Text that family member. What time are you voting tomorrow?
Do you need genuinely like genuinely the most important thing in the last 48 hours is getting people that have a hard time getting to the polls, to the are those are literally the voters.
We're going to decide a number of the very tight close races on right. So disregard whatever the poll says, whether it's good or bad for your person.
And just get out there and be part of the change and of course, and of course, with all that, I've got the links for you in the description and the top pinned comment.
But with all that said, let's jump into it, starting just had Haley Stevens two days before the election, managing to unite seemingly the whole Democratic Party together against her.
with Stevens surprise endorsing MAGA. Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate race. Hey, Michigan. As you may have seen, our Democratic nominee for U.S.
Senate, Abdul, said that I was no longer welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away. And he's right.
And that's why I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.
I don't belong in Abdul's campaign. I do not stand with a sandpiper who gets trafficked on our college campuses.
we are as Michiganders is not hate and is not what we are getting out from our Democratic nominee right now.
So I am just one person. I love this state. just letting you know where I am. I'm still a very proud Democrat.
she's a proud Democrat who, despite spending months and months posting about all the ways that Mike Rogers is going to ruin the country, is apparently totally cool, where the Republicans maintaining control of the Senate and doing Trump's bidding. right.
This is the same person who tweeted back in August.
Mike Rogers will be another rubber stamp for Donald Trump's dangerous agenda, saying we can't afford to give MAGA another Senate seat in November.
its with this you've got people going, how the hell did we get many saying that she had issues, that there were some concerns there. But this is on a whole other level.
well and well, this endorsement is really just the latest and essentially feels like a one sided feud with Abdul El CID, who beat her in the Democratic her and her issue, or at least the main conflict, at least on
the surface, is mostly about disagreements over the Israeli Stephen, because Stephen's is very, very pro-Israel, was heavily, heavily backed by AIPAC.
And although she isn't Jewish herself, she once even Israel comes to me in my dreams. I see Israel's future, among and among other things.
You've seen her taking issue with else's relationship or at the very least, platforming by Hassan Piker, whose comments around Israel have sparked a lot of backlash for months and while
he's distanced himself from the streamer saying, you know, I'm going where anyone will listen to me because I want to bring change for Michiganders. Stevens she's also been hyper focused on two ads that were endorsing right, right.
One was an anti-Israel ad that was made by Rebellion Pack and has nothing to do with his then and then the other was made by his campaign.
And it features prominent Republicans, including Tucker Carlson, because it's airing on Fox News to reach Republican you had and you had Stevens one calling the anti-Israel ad offensive to Jewish
people, and two, arguing that the Fox News ad is problematic because Carlson has spewed racist as and as you've had her criticizing and attacking else they had more and more this whole situation, it's just been getting so really right.
But then it really escalated last Wednesday when her fiance, Democratic attorney Jason Turkish, announced that he was endorsing Rogers
even while Stevens was still saying she'd vote for Also that same day, Stevens said that she would not be campaigning alongside El-Sayed during the last then.
But then, at least for a moment, it seemed like LCD and Stevens might actually both appear at an event at a church, together with other Michigan and national Democrats, including South Carolina Representative Jim then suddenly Stevens.
She had a condition for appearing at that event, which she shared on Friday in what many called a hostile you at her? Right?
You had her once again attacking El-Sayed for the anti-Israel ad that was not affiliated with his Saying saying she expected him to formally condemn that ad for what it is and Abdul promises to get money out of politics.
He can begin by getting Israel out of his explanation for everything Michigan cannot and adding it is my hope and expectation that out of the same respect for Michigan's black community,
he will take down his own advertisement featuring white Christian nationalists Tucker and you and you also had her saying in an interview on Friday that she had been given a promise that I would denounce the ad, though
she wouldn't say who made that and so and so I guess with that, like, she was expecting El-Sayed to follow her orders to fall in line and be there for this Kumbaya event at the church where she was in
but that but that is not what happened because they'll say Adnan's team, they were like, we're over and sends in a response statement the same day you had him saying, Congresswoman Stevens seems intent on relitigating a primary that ended three ago.
Let's all focus on the task at hand.
That's beating Mike With a team, with a team that also disinvited Stevens from his campaign events. And he also said on do.
I do not agree with the contents of that ad, pretty much giving Stevens what she was with right, right, even with all the tension between them and El-Sayed disinvited her from the events, you still had Stevens saying that she was voting for him up until Saturday Lately.
Right.
Late that night, she was reportedly telling her allies that she was behind him and planning to lie low through when.
When Marilyn representative Jamie Raskin spoke to her at 10 p.m., he got her confirmation that she was still supporting then.
But then, by the time that Raskin went on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday morning and told everyone that his information was already Because because that morning, Stevens apparently woke up pissed at El-Sayed
and decided to call Rogers and see if they could attend a apparently it apparently she didn't tell any of her Democrat friends or her team about these is why, or which is why the whole party was completely blindsided to see this video endorsement in that church appearance with it went.
And when Stevens and Rogers spoke to the press together, she again brought up Hassan Piker and how she believes that El-Sayed campaign is spreading vote for Senate is going to be with Mike Rogers.
And I will tell you why. Because we have to stand with country. We can't stand with hate.
We can't stand with us on piker.
I stood with my party and I was booed off the stage.
When young Jewish women have to hide their star Davids to walk across the University of Michigan campus. We have gone too far.
When young men have to wear ball caps over their yarmulke because they are getting harassed for being Jewish. We have gone too far.
This is more a statement about standing together against hate Now, now, the irony there is that Rogers is a guy who has run one of the most racist campaigns you've ever right, right.
You have that guy claiming to give a shit about standing together against hate. That is. It's is a guy, right?
This is a guy who is repeatedly accused House I had of having ties to terrorists among a billion other bigoted, racist fucking and so and so in addition to that and a number of other things
that Haley Stevens herself calls out for had a you had people just deeply confused how Stevens could support someone and actually and actually, when she was asked about her sudden change of heart during an interview at Anderson Cooper, it was just so awkward.
I don't even know if that's a word. did. You were willing to be at a campaign event for him. You wanted to be at a public event with him.
Up until some point, I guess yesterday. And I it's just an interesting change.
And I think a lot of people are curious to try to understand it.
Was that a question, Anderson, or. No, I wanted to see if you wanted to fill in the silence, but you don't look. Yeah.
Look. Michiganders are going to the ballot box.
if you go watch the full Anderson Cooper interview, it is it's a weird thing.
Like I genuinely can't tell if she's having, like, a mental breakdown live on TV or it's just her body betraying her while she's going through,
like realizing, oh God, these are the consequences of my crazy random actions, Because there have been a lot of consequences. The backlash has been swift and huge.
party with the Michigan Democratic Party literally kicking Stevens out?
It wasn't our longtime chief of staff, just in German quitting and saying in a statement, we are shocked and heartbroken by Congresswoman Stevens's decision
to support Mike Rogers, and saying as of this morning, many members of the team have resigned, including myself.
this really ended up seeming like a moment where a lot of Democrats were coming together.
because even though you've had more centrist Dems criticizing El-Sayed in the past, they were calling Stephens out and urging everyone to support Lisa.
Yet even had Chuck Schumer calling Stevens his endorsement a despicable betrayal and adding, Senate Democrats are united in our support for Abdul El-Sayed
because we know he will fight for the economic interests of working families in Michigan. Unlike Mike Rogers, who is a tool of Donald Trump and billionaire donors.
even Nancy Pelosi called out Stevens for choosing to dangerously betray Michigan families, health care, freedoms and future with a horrific endorsement.
but then also, in addition to the anger and the frustration, you had people out there who know Stevens personally expressing concern.
you with Michigan Representative Debbie Dingell and Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow, for example, seeming confused and worried. I don't know her fiancee.
I don't, but to see him out there so publicly, I mean, I can only speak for for myself.
But my husband and I talked about this, and my husband said if he ever tried to speak for me, the way that we see happening now, he's like, you would leave me.
Sure. Yeah. It's it's hard to watch Haley Stevens told me at midnight last night. This was all was not true.
That she would go with Rogers. Correct. And then five hours later. Correct. She's standing shoulder. She texted me at 745 watching you on, M.S.
now. Heart. Hard heart. And by the way, I talked. Look, I'm just upset. I'm very concerned.
It's sad, but I don't want to be distracted anymore.
you also had Michigan Democrat Jordan Acker, someone who says he's a friend of Stevens, weighing in and sharing concerns about her fiancee tweeting.
I've known her fiancé, Jason Turkish for years, saying I respect him as a brilliant lawyer and advocate for disabled Americans. But I have become deeply troubled by his behavior.
saying, I've heard serious concerns about his treatment of Haley staff, friends and allies saying my own experiences have only deepened those concerns. It is painful to watch someone you care about go through something like this.
adding it is even more painful to worry about the influence of those closest to her. and we're going to have to wait to see how this plays out.
But as far as Ed's reaction to the endorsement drama, he claims he's unbothered by it and more focused on the issues for the people that he wants to represent. At the end of the day.
I actually don't think about Haley Stevens. I'm talking like I think about the like I said, the 9,999,998 people who are not those two, because you know what?
I'm just less interested in the politics of it all than I am in the policy of it all. but as far as does this have an impact and if so, what?
We'll know very soon.
though I will say yesterday a poll from the The New York Times and Siena University showed El-Sayed leading Rogers by 11 percentage points, which is huge.
keep in mind that is just a poll and it is a singular poll. and the last respondents came from November 1st. So really the change here is not baked into that poll.
and we're also seeing reports that LSA had raised $2.4 million on Sunday. or the biggest numbers he's seen amidst this controversy.
and hey, as far as my opinion, I think Haley Stevens is a trader, but not like to the Democratic Party, but to her own professed ideals
and to everyone in the country who wants an end to uncontested Trumpism, who is against another Trump puppet senator who aids and abets the most corrupt administration in the history of the United States?
It's more focused on filling its and its billionaire Epstein class buddies pockets instead of making Americans lives more affordable to make your life and that of your family better.
based off of how she's coming off in the last 24 hours, she seems like a person who is either extremely unwell, easily manipulated, or so driven by her ego and feelings that it's disqualifying at any real level of government or power. and so.
I could be wrong, but it feels like she's probably gonna do a sprint of right wing friendly interviews. But at the end of the day, this is going to be kind of a short lived cope for her.
she's expose herself as a useful idiot that neither party can ever really trust. on the damn side. You tried to ratfuck the main candidate. That is key to flipping the Senate.
and then on the Republican side, will they really believe if she flips her opinions on most of the things she says she cares about? Because with a friend like Haley Stevens, who needs enemies.
though, I will say, hey, maybe there is an explanation for this.
Maybe she and Alcide are actually secretly working together, It's kind of like an Avengers Endgame situation. doctor, l said he looked into 14,000,605 possible futures.
And there was only one where he won Michigan.
and so Haley Stevens at the last second, erratically sacrificed her political career. if he wins. Because, again, I don't trust any poll. The only thing that matters is if people go out there and vote.
-
So we'll see. Right.
But then also with this, I got the chance to speak to Governor Westmore of Maryland. And I had to ask his thoughts on, you know, what's happening with Haley Stevens. mean, it's disappointing because I actually, I.
I don't understand what she was saying yesterday.
I actually agree with what she said a month ago when she said that Mike Rogers was just going to be a rubber stamp to Donald Trump. You know, we're a month ago.
She just said that Mike Rogers was not going to end these illegal wars, and he was not going to end these illegal tariffs.
That is just driving up the costs on everybody in the country and also on Michiganders.
And so I just I think Abdul is going to going to win because he's he's actually focusing on the issues that people care about and that Michiganders want to see their senator actually be able to address.
Right. And.
He also touched on the discourse about black and Jewish voters in Michigan, and what kind of effect Stevens's Rogers endorsement may or may not have in this race.
the thing I would also, you know, be careful of when people say, well, a group is going to go here or a group is going to go there.
You know, to be clear, no one owns a group. You know, I, I am I'm the only American.
As of right now, the only African-American governor in this country. And I don't speak for black people.
So I think that people should be careful on this assumption that, oh, because one person says X, that you're moving an entire group
also a big thing with having more today is like while his race, he's pretty much a shoo in for reelection in his deep blue one of the big things you're seeing play out in Maryland
and where he's focused a lot of his energy and his resources is on the hotly debated ballot.
Question three because that's a question about redistricting and specifically a vote in favor of question three would get rid of a Maryland state constitution requirement that mandates congressional districts must be compact and connected.
and the big thing there is that it would allow state Democratic leaders to redraw congressional district lines in ways that favor the party even more than the current 7 to 1 and of course, you have this coming in response
to the redistricting arms race that Trump kicked off by asking red states to gerrymander their lines to give Republicans more seats in after you had Texas launching the first strike by redrawing its maps to give Republicans an additional five seats, or at least expected five seats.
We've also seen similar efforts from Republicans in Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Utah, Florida and Tennessee. but the blue states, they've been kind of slower to follow so far.
Only California has fought back successfully.
where you had voters approving a ballot initiative that allowed the state to use a new congressional map that could give Democrats five additional seats.
and so if this goes through with Maryland, it could be a notable a big thing is this is actually something more in his allies tried to make happen last year.
but they then ran into resistance from the state senate president, who's also a Democrat, and who argued that the push didn't have the support of most lawmakers in the
and you had them pointing out that Maryland Democrats tried to do this already back in 2021.
And a state judge ultimately tossed it out the next but you had more in his allies not given up.
And after a legal challenge, Maryland Supreme Court allowed the question to be put up to voters in the form of a ballot and more he wants Maryland to be a part of this broader
so I'm urging people to vote yes on question three, because question three is asking a fundamental question who is in charge of our democracy?
Is it the people of Maryland or is it Donald Trump? are democracy has a fundamental right to defend itself.
And that's what I see. Question three in Maryland but here's where things are very interesting, right. Well a lot of people on the left, they're all in on the quid pro quo method.
It's actually not as many as you might at least maybe that's just the case in Maryland or with how this thing's worded, because a poll released this month by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County,
revealed that a majority of likely Maryland voters, 53%, plan to vote against the or without, including 42% of Democrats, 74% of Republicans, and 59% of unaffiliated voters
who plan to vote as and as far as why the hesitation you have some strategists saying that maybe some Democrats feel like they're co-opting the Republican strategy.
And that's not the best way to that, saying that when some Democrats hear about mid-decade redistricting, they associate it with Trump and Republicans breaking the rules, and they might not be comfortable what but what's more, he hit back, arguing
that we just can't lay down and let them bulldozer saying we need to fight we did not invite this fight. Donald Trump did.
Donald Trump was the one who started something unprecedented in our country's history, which is starting to do this, this redistricting, unilateral redistricting
but then he also made it clear that he only wants to do this because Democrats need to meet Trump at his level in a war that he started.
And he dreams of a future where we don't have to do all this I don't think this is something that any of us want.
I want to get to a day when we can have national redistricting reform, and we can have independent commissions that that can do this.
But what I also don't agree with is unilaterally disarming.
I do not agree with, you know, with allowing yourself to get punched in the face while you're sitting on your And I know that while I believe in national redistricting reform,
we will never get there if we allow him to continue changing the rules and rig elections.
but then, but then also there's an interesting thing is that you have some thinking that this is a very risky move With the, the thinking being that if Moore is not successful with this,
it could actually be a political setback a time, right at a time where people see him as this rising leader in the party.
And it's widely been speculated that he's gearing up for a presidential Though when I asked him about this belief for theory about his motivations, he would say fighting for democracy is not about personal ambition.
Fighting for democracy is about knowing your history.
Like, I mean, I when I think about the people who came before us, right, they had to stare down police dogs
and fire hoses and police batons and National Guard soldiers in order to give us the right to
And so for people who are telling me to sit on my hands, or people who are saying that you are doing it for, for
for personal reasons, I would just say, no, I'm doing it because I know my history and I'm doing it because I know what is required inside of this and,
you know, this fighting fire with fire strategy, it is all part of a bigger question about the Democratic brand, a question that's obviously sparked endless discourse in stump
1 in it's and it's also a question that I didn't even plan to ask when I started the interview.
But it feels, you know, even more relevant today with the Stephens l said is what is the Democratic Party right now?
And here's what Moore's think I think the Democratic Party needs to be the results party.
I think the Democratic Party needs to be the party that actually pushes to make sure that we're making lives better, and the party that leaves no one behind inside of that process.
I think the danger that we will have of a Democratic party is if the Democratic Party just simply comes off as the alternative to the Republican Party,
because I think that is going to be something that people are realizing that they're exhausted before but before we get to potentially see that play out in action, we're going to have to see what happens Tuesday.
Right?
The outcome of all these elections, including a question about question and then with that said, there's more we're going to dive into in just a minute after a quick break with our sponsor.

But then from that, let's jump to the news.
And the question, Is Trump about to nuke Iran, or are we about to finally see a peace deal? Because it really depends on who you ask. Because with Trump's war choice and Iran.
Iran in the United States have been locked in a diplomatic standoff for a couple of months the last U.S. strikes hit. Iranian targets were on the Strait of Hormuz back in September. And obviously Iran retaliated.
But they also brought a proposal for a peace deal to the them calling for their frozen assets to be released, the US naval blockade to be lifted and an end to fighting on all fronts in exchange for the phased reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and further negotiations on other topics.
and well, obviously that first order was shot down.
In the two months since then, there have been ongoing negotiations between Iran and the US brokered by mediators like Qatar and Pakistan.
and well coming out of this weekend, it doesn't look like we're any closer to a deal, with Ron's most recent offer being to shorten the implementation period of any potential deal with the US from seven days to
but also saying today, quote, the ball is in the US court and their top diplomat, adding that while negotiations are proceeding, quote, everything depends on Washington's
political rationality, at least according to Iran's state news and you would, Iran's foreign minister quoted as saying, if they choose honest diplomacy, we are ready to engage.
But adding, if they intend to deceive us and launch military operations, they will face a response more bitter and forceful than before. this question of, well, where does the United States stand right now?
Or rather, where does Trump stand right now? Because top Trump officials, they seem to be all in for negotiating.
in fact, you actually had Vice President JD Vance writing a personal letter to the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, specifically that his letter asking
Tehran to agree to make commitments on its nuclear program, which would then lead to the Strait of Hormuz being opened within seven days in return for U.S. sanctions and this seems to be or at least should be a pretty big deal, right?
This letter is the most senior level outreach by the US in and Vance returning to the table, it could be seen as a good sign that maybe the US is taking the negotiation seriously.
that was actually something you saw, echoed by the secretary of state, Marco Rubio, who told reporters over the weekend that Trump himself wants to end the war diplomatically and would prefer not to use military but there's also some to a lot of doubt there.
Whether that's actually the case, especially because Trump has continued to threaten strikes through this whole process. right.
Just last month, he floated the idea of using a massive ordnance air blast bomb and an attack against Pickax which is reportedly a deeply buried nuclear site in
there was an also his comment about annihilating the Islamic Republic in front of the UN General Assembly, or like when he told a rally in Florida that they made you quote another little epic mention, not to mention just a couple of weeks ago, The New York Times reported U.S.
and Israeli militaries were developing specific plans for renewed strikes against Iran immediately after the US midterm well and well over the weekend, you know, you had Trump may be walking that back a bit.
You still had him saying he would give them the hammer and promising the war will end soon.
Quote one way or another and saying either they'll make a deal or we'll just end but then he also highlighted that negotiations are going fine,
and said he is not in much of a hurry to take offensive and there's even been some reporting out there saying that Trump put Bibi Netanyahu in his place a bit over the Right.
According to Axios, Netanyahu is pushing hard for that new round of strikes after the midterms, but Trump appears to be hitting the pause button to allow the negotiations to
or at least he has made a decision one way or another and or you're seeing more and more people out there thinking that Axios may be more of a compromised outlet, but we'll see what happens, except also Netanyahu's connection and influence here.
It's also captured the attention of none other than Tucker Tucker, right.
And Tucker, he appears to have a very different prediction on how this war is going to because according to Tucker, Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to launch a nuclear attack on Iran and specifically Pickax Mountain.
in this big Twitter post, Tucker describing that Yahoo is cornered and desperate after the Israeli election.
saying he won't be able to form a government without Trump's immediate intervention and Otherwise, he's out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly saying Netanyahu must stay close to Trump.
He needs this but then also as far as why a nuclear strike?
According to Tucker, there is no conventional weapon in the American arsenal that can penetrate the 300ft of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment supposedly taking with the argument being that the only option then would be a nuke.
And then Tucker lays out the reasons why using a nuke is a terrible, terrible Talking about a global depression contaminating the Persian Gulf, which is the water supply for 100 million people.
Just to start things there's then, of course, the establishing the president of using nukes in modern times, essentially signing the permission slip for Russia to use one against Ukraine and then Pakistan versus India, North Korea versus Seoul.
anybody, Tucker saying after the first nuclear strike, World War three is inevitable.
That war would be short and saying, we've been sleepwalking toward this moment for months.
Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America's nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called battlefield nukes easier, and therefore more adding no one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this.
Now we're on the brink at least according to Tucker Carlson, Trump is going to decide by next weekend whether or not to use a nuke.
And he says that right now Trump is hesitating and listening to those around him saying a deal can be and you had closing, as opposed by saying one group that hasn't been consulted
so far is the global population, the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children.
If Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next saying now would be the time for them to speak that and that post, I guess pun intended, it He made that post last night, at least as a recording.
According to Twitter's numbers, it had 70 million course, and of course it sparked other reactions, videos, and as far as the reactions, those have been kind of a mixed you you have a lot of hate coming from all sides. Right.
For one, you had the likes of Laura Loomer responding to that original post, accusing Tucker of, quote, making excuses for jihadis and following it up by two days before the midterm elections, Tucker
Olson is spreading the hoax, that President Trump is going to use nuclear weapons on Iran in the next saying, Tucker is such a liar and a threat to our national security.
I really do that and that is you had others on the right asking what happened to Tucker to make him diverge so far from Trump, to accuse him of planning nuclear also but also, like, he wasn't alone there.
Alex Jones for one another former Trump supporter, actually came to Tucker's defense and even backed him Tucker has some of the best sources in the government and in the media and in intelligence and multinational.
And when he tells you that Trump has met with the Democrat leaders and they've greenlit this attack, you can bet that that's accurate information from my sources.
The Pentagon I've been saying for months and months this would lead to a tactical nuclear weapon.
also also, Jones took it a step further, saying that hitting Pickax Mountain with a new could turn it into a disaster worse than if the Iranians have really left
all of that enriched uranium and Pickax Mountain and other places, and you hit it with a tactical hydrogen bomb,
most estimates are it could create a chain reaction and you don't get a full nuclear detonation, but you get a huge cook off and just a few pounds of enriched uranium hit by a hydrogen bomb.
Is chair noble upon? Sure noble. I mean, look this up for your sales folks. even.
And even though there are a lot of people out there that are also incredibly skeptical of what Tucker Carlson is claiming here, you had many saying, hey, even the idea is enough to warrant right, right.
Arguing even if 90% of this is exaggerated, even if Trump only considered the big red button for one second before deciding against it, that's still a second then
and then in addition to the reality or even it feeling like this prospect is on the table and isn't that scary?
You had many, many, many, many, many people jumping on to remind people that these two men, they played key roles in getting us to this They they helped rally their audiences to get Trump elected.
And now they're sounding the alarm when the consequences again, though again, to be clear, we do not know right now if this is of now. As of now, this is And while and.
Well, Ron, they reportedly said they believe a strike from the U.S. is more likely than a deal. That doesn't necessarily mean that we are sleepwalking into nuclear warfare. that. Right? Right.
-
The specific hellscape that Tucker and Jones are but then from that we've got to talk about is Trump going to use these midterms for the big lie 2.0. right.
That's one of the big questions out there as we've gotten closer and closer to the midterms, which they're finally here tomorrow, Tuesday.
at least from what you've seen him doing, what we've seen over the last year or so, it looks like he's definitely laying the groundwork to deny election outcomes and try to overturn results and things that do not go his way in key races.
right. Well, we've talked about this here and there in the lead up to the midterms.
Now that we are actually here, it is very important to go through all the bullshit that he's pulled and weave it all together to really get a full picture of exactly what's going on of course, to kick things off, he never stops writing election lies after 2020.
in fact, an analysis found that Trump has attacked the integrity of our elections on more than 70% of the days in his second term.
So far, has consistently, repeatedly spread lies about the security of our elections and voting systems, falsely claiming that they're vulnerable and easily corrupted when the opposite is true.
he's continue to repeat the false claim that he actually won the 2020 election and accused Democrats of engaging in widespread election fraud whenever things don't go his way.
cast doubt on Mail-In voting, saying that it's more susceptible to fraud, even while continually voting by mail himself and telling his voters to vote by mail.
He's weaponized federal law enforcement to seize and investigate election materials in key counties where he tried to overturn the 2020 election. he's literally already sued to block the Alaska Senate race from being certified.
If the Republican incumbent, Dan Sullivan, loses his race, move even Alaska's GOP led government is fighting against.
and actually you had a federal judge dismissing Trump's lawsuit, but he already said that he's going to appeal despite the fact that Sullivan himself literally said he would accept the outcome of the election if he loses. Right.
Then while Trump, he's senator, a lot of his 2020 efforts on false claims about voting machines, his main focus this year has been on non-citizen voting.
And to be very clear here, non-citizen voting is extremely rare, At 2024 analysis by the American Immigration Council found that proven non-citizen voting accounted for just .000 1% of total votes dating back to 2000.
in the limited instances that it does take place, most cases involve so few votes that they actually wouldn't change the outcome of an election.
And the few people who do commit non-citizen voter fraud usually face criminal charges.
you've had evidence that even with all the energy and the resources that Trump is pouring into this non-issue, there are still just not a meaningful number of us that would even fractionally support his claims
are you in a recent Reuters report finding that since Trump resumed office, just around 147 people were arrested under the federal statute that prevents non-citizen voting.
but one most of those cases are still unresolved, meaning that a conviction has not been secured.
And two, even if all of them were convicted, they would amount to fewer than one in every million people who voted in 2024.
despite that, you've had Trump relentlessly pushing this narrative that non-citizen voting is this huge problem, and use those false claims to try and expand federal control over elections.
Last year, he signed an executive order requiring people to provide proof of citizenship when they register to vote.
this past March, he signed an executive order that required states to provide a list of voters who are eligible to receive a mail in ballot and directed the US Postal Service to only send Mail-In ballots to the people on those lists.
and while you had both of those orders getting blocked in court, the Trump administration has still continue to take aggressive action against states or the Trump DOJ, they've threatened criminal action against election officials
who knowingly allow non-citizens to vote with DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen also threatening fines or prison time for those who don't comply with the administration's efforts.
mean, it's gotten so bad that on Friday, a federal judge to block the DOJ and DHS from threatening to prosecute election officials who processed ballots that the administration claims are ineligible.
Federal officials have also reportedly sent out more than 100 subpoenas for the records of voters that it claims may be non-citizens, and issued criminal subpoenas to election workers in California. right.
The Trump administration has been accused of illegally interfering with the elections by sending states, shoddily compiled lists of alleged non-citizens, and then insisting that local officials remove those people from their voter rolls or deny them ballots.
one of the most notable examples happened in Nevada, where the DOJ made this huge announcement that it identified the name of 16,000 non-citizens on the voter rolls.
the list that the Trump administration actually sent state officials had only 185 names on it. And those officials, they determined that all of those people were citizens. and again.
That is far from the only time that seats has entered the list. So just straight up wrong. despite that, Trump's just escalated these efforts.
just last month, the administration sued to block California from processing the ballots at 20,000 people it claims are non-citizens. And it also asked Washington to separate 400 ballots for the same reason.
but both states refuted those figures and challenged the administration in court. then also with all this.
Right, the, the insanity that is out there, actually got the chance to talk to someone who's been a key player on this front in the past and is going to play a huge role this time around. Right.
That is Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, who's currently running against the state's Republican governor, Joe Lombardo, and one of the tightest and most closely watched gubernatorial campaigns this cycle.
in about a it is a major target for Trump, right.
It was one of the states where he tried to overturn the election in 2020, and it's been a focal point of his false claims about non-citizen voting.
in addition to an extremely close race for governor, there's also a number of other key positions up for grabs.
you've got the attorney general, the secretary of state, all 42 seats in the state Assembly, half of the state Senate, and a surprisingly competitive race in the second Congressional District.
and will Ford, he told us that we should absolutely expect interference from Donald Trump.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he pulled the same stunts he's pulled over the course of the And you also have Ford worried about how Lombardo, the Republican governor, is going to let this play out, especially if he himself loses.
I would be concerned about Joe Lombardo standing up to Donald Trump because he's demonstrated his penchant for lying down, for being a doormat,
for Donald Trump, kowtowing, kissing up because at every But let's be clear to the election denialism components.
We have a governor who twice has veto the bill that would have outlawed what we call fake elector schemes in our before
he also said that he and other leaders in Nevada who fought Trump in 2020, they are ready and prepared for whatever he's going to try to pull this time around.
you have them confident that they will beat Trump in all his bogus attempts to undermine the will of the people, just like they did last time. We stayed ready so we don't have to get ready.
I've defeated him in court probably a dozen times already on election related stuff, including the most recent one before the Supreme Court, where he tried to come in and interfere with our ability to control our own mail elections.
the saving grace is that you have an attorney general in me who will stand up and who will fight, who will meet him in court and beat him in court.
In conjunction with my Secretary of State, Cisco Aguilar, who is also a staunch advocate for our boating rights and the integrity of our elections.
And I'm confident that we will prevail against any type of attack of that sort as That's a key thing to remember here. Trump lost his attempts to overturn the 2020 election. and Trump only feels emboldened.
Keep trying because he didn't actually have to face any real consequences.
mean, we as a country literally reelected him again, even after his lies inciting an insurrection and re assuming the presidency just allowed him to avoid prosecution.
also with that, you have a lot of analysts saying that his lies will not have the same sticking power this time around.
for one thing, his approval is at record lows across both of his administrations, and he's lost a ton of the support that he managed to keep all these years, even after the insurrection.
so his credibility, his cult like magnetism. They are at the lowest that we've seen yet.
with the likely reason being that people are being forced to worry about, oh, can they pay their bills? Can they make ends meet?
Because affordability is become the number one issue in this election, with so many Americans feeling like Trump, he just hasn't done enough to help them and has only made things worse. he's not alone.
They're the Republican politicians who have enabled him the past two years.
And the people that are running now seemingly looking for his support, they're just kind of a rubber stamp. there's that built in connective tissue.
So does it actually hurt Republicans when Trump is out there and he's saying, hey, vote like I'm on the ballot.
part of that's to say, you know, his efforts to undermine the election this time, they might not pick up as much steam when everyone's focused on more important issues. And that's actually something that Ford echoed.
the conversations I've had with at every corner of our state over the last year or so, I've literally been to every county, speaking to every American you can think They all say the same thing.
They just want a good job to buy a house in a safe neighborhood where the schools are preparing their kids for careers in college, where the health care system is available and affordable to them.
and you also had Ford saying that the most important thing right now is that we can't let concerns about what Trump might do scare us into submission. Right? That is exactly what he wants.
at the end of the day, we still have to show up.
We cannot allow this type of nonsense to deter us from exercising our constitutional right.
Our vote is our voice, as the cliche goes, but it's a very real cliche, and so we still need people to show up.
Nevadans are showing up and they're going to prove their points at the polls. the same is true everywhere in America.
By making our voices as loud as possible, by using our votes to show him how strongly we feel about the issues that really matter, that is our best shot at combating all the nonsense.
That's to come. Call it what you want. Make it too big, Derek.
Make your voices so loud that they drown out the pathetic, dying whimpers of a flailing wannabe dictator.

But then jumping from that other big news, we've got to talk about how nine people are now dead after a private jet crashed into Palm Beach County yesterday.
and the details in the audio we've gotten so far, just as a fair warning there. Horrifying. If you want to skip this, you can look at the time codes.
The emergency seven Delta. We are in an overseas condition. Descending 20,000 per minute.
So apparently this all started with a family of four, plus their nanny, two friends and two pilots taken off from Texas, headed to the Bahamas.
and one of the Copilots has now been identified as 20 year old Natalia Field and well 20 might sound super young for a pilot report say that she had logged more than 1300 hours of flight time
and had earned her pilot's license at the other pilot has since been identified as 55 year old Jeff Gregory.
But apparently once they took off, they were heading east at 35,000ft when they hit an area that was under a flood watch, expected to get hit with some that and with that report,
say that they were dealing with some turbulence and light ice accumulating on the jet, but told controllers it was with them, then eventually requested to go up another 2000ft looking for a better ride.
But that's where things went Because a few seconds after that they reportedly took a steep dive, first falling 10,000ft per minute, then 20, then 30, pushing the jet way past its in Italia made distress calls through the whole thing.
We're going to crash into the ground. Seven. Two. Three. Delta.
We are sending 22,000ft and we are banking 60 degrees. Look how tight. right.
And then with that, there were videos all over the internet of the coming down in a ball of that, or with a jet exploding on impact. And it left a full on crater in the street.
And you had people like Ron DeSantis calling it cataclysmic, with flames even stretching to the nearby of and as of now, one of the only lighter aspects to this news is that reportedly, somehow no one was injured on the though around 600 people had to evacuate the Right.
With all this. Well, officials are now investigating what exactly caused the crash.
You do have some aviation experts saying that it could have been ice and turbulence that stalled the Right. Right.
Because at that altitude, cloud water can start to freeze up around important parts of a and in this case, you've seen people speculating that it could have messed with the horizontal stabilizer, which keeps the nose from tipping
too far up or and you had others noting that given the way that it fell, that maybe more likely than an engine issue, for example, where you'd expect to see a more gradual descent with some gliding compared to a full on
and with this, you also had officials saying that they have evidence that there was some breakup of the jet before it made impact, though they didn't go into detail so and so overall, investigators are saying
that it's just too early to make any official and according to the press conference we got earlier today, they're focused on collecting evidence and talking to witnesses to try to figure of the one of the hopes there is. Yes.
You get answers from the friends and family, but also, if there's something to learn here, you could implement changes to keep something like this from happening in the also from that, we then have the news that Senator Chris.
-
Murphy of Connecticut suffered a stroke over the weekend and you had his chief of staff in a statement to reporters saying that he was Edison's hockey game when he began experiencing a numbness in his arm.
he was then taken to a local hospital where it was discovered he had a stroke. And he was then transferred to Johns Hopkins for further monitoring.
And he's been responding well to treatment. right, with that statement also adding that doctors are encouraged by his progress. He is awake and alert, and we are optimistic he will make a full recovery.
and well notably at a number of outlets saying, you know, this comes at a time where there's been a lot of scrutiny around the health of senators and members of Congress lately, especially following Lindsey Graham's death and the Weekend at Bernie's stuff with Mitch McConnell.
with Chris Murphy. He's actually only 53, which for Congress is very, very young. And so that's pretty young. Also, to be dealing with a stroke. ultimately that's where we are.
-
But here's open to him making a fast and full recovery.
And then also in the news, Zoran Mamdani, who apparently now looks like my Italian uncle. He just threatened to sue Weiss. right, that mustache putting out a different kind of energy.
But you had him sending a letter to DHS officials this morning claiming that Ice agents are using city owned property to conduct operations in New York and that includes multiple parking lots in the Bronx and Queens, one of which was reportedly next to a anyone.
Mamdani saying that this is an illegal tactic that sows fear among New Yorkers.
And he told Secretary Mark Wayne your agents continue any unauthorized use of these lots. New York City will take legal action to prevent this unlawful commandeering.
and adding New York City deeply values its immigrant communities and will continue to use all available lawful means to ensure their safety. I look forward to your cooperation. the.
For its part, DHS responded to the letter by claiming that this is an authorized and standard practice for law enforcement agents and Mayor Mamdani should be grateful to our brave law enforcement officers for cleaning up the streets of New York City, since he but many, including Mamdani.
They don't actually, Danny's been ramping up criticisms of Ice in recent weeks after agencies in plain clothes and math shot a man in the neck in front of his five year old
while and while that man survived, there was immediate outrage with Danny calling for ice to be Ice undermines public safety. This city wants ice out.
and also actually earlier this year, Mamdani issued an executive order to protect New Yorkers from Ice and specifically bars federal agents from using city parking lots for the work without authorization.
and so in addition to the letter that he sent today, you would also unveiling a new policy under that order, strengthening procedures for city parks employees that they must follow.
If Ice or other federal agents try to enter public parks and with, adding ice is no right to use our property as a base for tearing families apart.
If they keep coming back, we will see them in But that, my friends, you beautiful bastards. Brings us to the end of your Monday, Philip DeFranco show. Thank you for watching and lacking today's show.
